About the Author
Emiko Konomi received her PhD from Cornell and taught Japanese language at Portland State University at all levels for many years.
She also trained Japanese-language instructors at various teacher-training programs in the U.S. Her passionate teaching style and dedication earned her the John Eliot Allen Outstanding Teaching Award in 2011 and 2015.
She is the author of Reading and Writing Japanese Hiragana and Reading and Writing Japanese Katakana.
